Creating for an Audience of One
What would shift if God became your first viewer?
What if we stopped creating for the world and started creating with the One who made it?
Not to be seen by the masses, but to be known by the Maker.
The same God who breathed galaxies into existence can multiply your message, build your community, and align your calling — if you’d make Him your first creative partner.
So I’ve been sitting with some questions that I now want to ask you:
→ If God was your first client, how would you treat Him?
→ If He was your first viewer, what would you create?
→ If God was your collaborator, what kind of partner would you be?
→ If He was in the audience, what would you say?
Broken Promises
First, let’s address the elephant in the room..
It’s been a while since my last Substack.
And the truth is — I’ve had so much to share.
In the last few months, I’ve traveled through six countries and eleven cities. I’ve met souls, seen beauty, been inspired, been stretched. But somewhere in all the movement, I convinced myself I didn’t have the time to process it all.
Broken promise after promise to “post on Monday” or “start fresh next week.” And still, I felt stuck.
Stuck in the loop of believing I didn’t have “enough.”
Enough energy. Enough clarity. Enough time.
But that was the first lie.
I blamed myself and hid behind performance. But I also blamed the algorithm. I blamed the unconscious cycles of audience behavior. I said I was being overlooked, but the truth is: I was stuck in a victim mindset.
Part of me feared that anyone who did see me would label me inconsistent. But I wasn’t even looking through their lens. I was peering through my own shame. Through the surveillance of my inner critic.
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”
— Matthew 7:3
Creating in Surveillance
We live in a culture where everything is watched, tracked, recorded.
Surveillance isn’t just about data — it’s become a mindset. A loop that measures our worth in numbers, engagement, and performance.
Instead of creating for the Viewer that is God, we create for algorithms. We call metrics community. We confuse visibility with value.
But God didn’t give you your voice to be verified by data. He gave it to carry divine vision.
And it’s God — not metrics — who entrusts you with people when you’re willing to see Him in those you serve, connect with, and create for.
The Mindset Shift That Changes Everything
As creatives, we’re told to create for the audience, the algorithm, the critic.
But what if we created for the Audience of One?
Not for performance. But for presence.
Because when you create for God and make him the center of your why, something sacred happens. You make work that serves the world — but also heals something in you.
You remember who gave you the vision to begin with.
"You will know that I am the Lord; those who hope in me will not be put to shame." — Isaiah 49:23
When I became still enough to hear God again and believe the truth in His word, I stopped surveilling myself. I stopped living by past assessments or future predictions. I became present.
Present enough to realize: God still wants what He planted in you to grow.
And you don’t need permission from the algorithm to say yes.
The Invitation
So here’s the invitation:
Stop surveilling yourself.
Stop measuring your process like it’s under a microscope.
Stop watching your every move through a lens of fear or shame.
Before the timelines.
Before the templates.
Before the “content plan.”
He gave you a seed.
God wants to see you fulfill the destiny He planted before you were ever born.
Now it's time to water it.
Start creating from presence.
Start moving with freedom.
Start building for the One who saw you first.
“And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— to make artistic designs...”
— Exodus 31:3–4
Because when God is the One you're showing up for —
the pressure breaks, and the purpose begins.
With love and creative courage,
— A

The questions got me. We really do have to start creating everything with God in mind, FIRST. That truly changes everything.
